- Owned and coordinated by the Federation of Children's Book Groups

- Judged entirely by children from shortlist to final overall winner
- Top 50 titles each year published in the Pick of the Year list
- Top ten authors, illustrators and their publishers invited to the Award Ceremony in May
- Top ten authors and illustrators receive portfolios of children's letters and pictures
- Category winners receive an engraved silver book mark
- Overall winner holds an oak and silver trophy for a year and keeps an engraved silver acorn
Submission Criteria
- Any work of fiction first published in the UK in 2010 including titles previously published abroad
- Retellings of folk/religious stories with significant original input
- You should provide 12 copies of each title
- Books to be sent on publication
- Closing date 31 December 2010
