About the Federation of Children's Book Groups

The Federation of Children's Book Groups is a national, voluntary organisation concerned with children and their books. It aims to promote enjoyment and interest in children's books and reading. It also:

  • Runs a National Conference each year, providing a meeting point for authors, parents, librarians, publishers and all who share its aims
  • Acts as an umbrella organisation for 30 independent book groups all over the UK
  • Publishes book lists
  • Coordinates and runs National Share-a-Story Month and the Red House Children's Book Award
